HAPPY NEW YEAR !
May all your transits form trines and all your dreams come true this year!
THE MOON
We don’t see as much of the Sun as we would like to see during January when days are short and the Earth is still bashfully turning her face away from the Sun.
The MOON is somewhat more dependable and casts a silvery light on the world every month as it smiles down on the world.
This month there will be a rare Super Blood Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse.
The Hunter's Moon is also known as the Blood Moon and occurs in October, but this month's Full Moon will be red, too. So, it is also called a Blood Red Moon.
Did you know that March brings the Crow Moon? Or that the Full Moon in July is called the Thunder Moon?
Because a picture is worth a thousand words please take a full year’s journey of the folk-lore Moons as illustrated by a talented and whimsical artist. E. M. Corsa Backyard Wild
By the way, this artist also creates the most beautiful zodiac cards ever! We liked ours so much we framed it. E. M. Corsa Shop
JANUARY 2019
JANUARY 2 - 12:46 AM - Sun conjunct SaturnAND parallel Saturn until January 6. Not a good time to begin anything of importance since Saturn seems to attract negativity.
JANUARY 5 - The New Moon includes a partial Solar Eclipse at 15.4 degrees Capricorn.
JANUARY 8-10 - Pretty good days to launch something new with the Sun || Jupiter + Pluto
JANUARY 18-20 - There are some excellent alignments in the heliocentric chart making this a good time for romantic encounters.
JANUARY 21 - enjoy a rare SUPER Blood Moon while you can! Another won't appear until 2036! This lunation also includes a Total Lunar Eclipse and occurs at 0.9 degrees Leo. Never begin anything on an eclipse as results can be unpredictable.
Interesting Stuff
Found this article at the Smithsonian Magazine after the solstice but the story is amazing.
Astrologers would be richer than Bill Gates or Warren Buffet if we could surgically remove Saturn from charts. This sounds like a good beginning ...... NASA says that Saturn is losing its rings!
RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR IN PRAGUE
When the first hour of the New Year strikes on the Prague Astronomical Clock the Sun and Moon will revolve around the Earth!
That is because this clock was built in the early 15th century when it was deemed heresy to suggest otherwise.
This amazing clock keeps 3 different times, has a pageant of apostles every hour and has awesome (perhaps terrifying) medieval mechanical displays.
See tours of the Prague Astronomical Clock. Choose a long tour or a short tour (or watch both!).
Website Logo Artwork Credit: Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939) This Czechoslovakian Art Nouveau artist became
famous in the fin de siecle period after his poster of actress Sarah Bernhardt became a
sensation. His work often celebrates the beauty of women. His posters and artwork are colorful,
sensual, filled with detail and rich with symbolism.
